TRIBOO and Nozzle are jointly introducing a unique, circular, ergonomic workspace to the Dutch and Belgian office furniture markets. An innovative combination of the UP—a 3D-printed office chair whose design is shaped by the user’s body type—and an electrically height-adjustable desk equipped with lightweight #Greengridz desk tops and an EverUse acoustic desk screen.

Marc van der Heijden, founder and director of TRIBOO in the Netherlands, and Aline Ollevier, founder and director of Nozzle in Belgium, are combining their expertise and innovation into a pragmatic solution that ensures everyone can work throughout their lives—in good health and with great enjoyment—to contribute to the value of our society. In addition, they aim to work together to help solve the global raw materials crisis by using waste as a raw material, reducing material consumption, and lowering CO2 emissions.

With more than 20 years of experience in occupational therapy and ergonomics, Aline noticed that standard office chairs often didn’t fit the body, forcing the body to adapt to the chair. This resulted in negative health effects. She turned that around and came up with the UP, an ergonomic 3D-printed office chair that adapts to the body’s specific shape. As a result, it always fits perfectly and offers healthy comfort.    

Using the Nozzle app, a 3D scan is created to customize the UP, which is then 3D-printed locally. Thanks to its modular design, each individual part is easy to repair, adjust, or replace. One chair for life. The printed parts are made from upcycled waste and can be reused at the end of their lifespan as raw material for other UP office chairs.

TRIBOO’s circular desk configurations stand out thanks to the innovative, lightweight #greengridz desktop and the EverUse acoustic desk screen. #Greengridz has a 60% lower carbon footprint, and each desktop uses approximately 12 kilograms less material than traditional chipboard desktops. Using less material means less waste separation, fewer trips to the landfill, and less recycling. This helps prevent waste generation and the use of new raw materials.

To ensure good acoustics in the workplace, the desk can be equipped with an EverUse acoustic desk screen. The panel features a #greengridz structure with recycled textile filling on the inside. This absorbs sound and provides acoustic comfort. The exterior finish is i-did felt made from recycled workwear. The colors are derived from the identities of the organizations that originally wore them. Worn-out military clothing yields beautiful shades of green, while consumer clothing—which is thrown away daily and ends up at municipal waste facilities—is transformed into a warm, vibrant orange color.
