Nine circular economy leaders join forces in "Captains of the New Industry"

Well-Designed Together: A New Partnership Makes Circular Office Design More Accessible Than Ever.

Nine circular companies have joined forces to form Captains of the New Industry. Through this new partnership, Triboo, Alvero, Dekker Zevenhuizen, Signify, i-did, CircleFoam Sustainable Products, Studio Wae, Seawood, and Nowa Kitchen are making circular office furnishings more accessible to clients, architects, designers, and buyers.

Demand for circular office design is growing rapidly. Organizations increasingly want their sustainability goals to be reflected in their work environment: a space that inspires, feels comfortable, and contributes to a better future. In practice, however, it is often difficult to integrate all circular solutions into a single, cohesive interior design concept. That is why Captains of the New Industry brings together the knowledge, products, and expertise of various specialists into a single network.

One partnership, endless possibilities

By combining their knowledge, collections, and expertise, a single, powerful network is created for a fully circular interior. From furniture to flooring, lighting, and acoustic solutions, to pantries, flooring, and materials. Together, the partners offer a broad and cohesive range of products and services for clients, architects, designers, and buyers.

The member brands share the same vision: sustainable design must become simpler, more appealing, and more accessible. The products and solutions within the collective are circular, modular, reusable, or made from waste streams and natural raw materials. Several partners also incorporate a strong social impact component (PSO 30+ Level 3). In this way, we combine circular design, social impact, and high-quality aesthetics into a single comprehensive concept. We demonstrate that sustainable choices are not only smart for the future, but also beautiful, practical, and affordable.

“We are more than the sum of our parts,” says Marc van der Heijden of Triboo. “Think of it as a collective of Captains of the New Industry: together, we offer convenience and access to the circular economy. The affiliated brands reinforce one another in form, function, and narrative. Clients retain complete freedom of choice, while at the same time benefiting from convenience, cohesion, and shared expertise.”

Collaboration as the New Standard

According to the organizers, the circular economy calls for a new way of collaborating—not based on individual products, but on the connections between materials, manufacturers, designers, and clients. Whether it’s a single product or a complete office setup, clients gain access to the network’s collective knowledge and combined offerings through any participating brand.

Furthermore, Captains of the New Industry is explicitly intended to be an open movement. Organizations that share the same circular ambition and can strengthen one another are invited to help build the collective. In the coming period, the partners will jointly present the first projects, their approach, and opportunities for new participants.
