Thanks to the innovative grid system, between 60 and 90% fewer raw materials are required, depending on the thickness of the panel. A desk or tabletop made from the sustainable, lightweight Greengridz® structural panel looks just like a traditional solid desk or tabletop. The secret to its strength lies in its clever internal construction. With a density of just 270 kg/m³, this means that nearly three times less material is used compared to a heavy tabletop made of solid materials such as particleboard, MDF, or plywood. Simply put, that material is no longer needed to create a strong tabletop. This reduces the use of raw materials and eliminates the need to recycle them.

CO2 emissions from the production of Greengridz® are 60% lower than those from solid furniture panels. Because of its light weight, 50% more volume can be transported compared to traditional, heavy furniture panels. In practice, this means that only one truck is needed instead of two. That cuts the distance traveled, fuel consumption, and CO2 emissions in half. The weight per square meter of a 38-mm furniture panel is approximately 12 kilograms for plywood, 25 kilograms for particleboard, and 8 kilograms for Greengridz®. Greengridz® has proven to be best-in-class in the market. The MRPI®-EPD certificate substantiates this and has been verified by EcoReview. The LCA study was conducted by SGS Search. The certificate is based on an LCA report in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A1. It has been verified in accordance with the “MRPI®-EPD Verification Protocol November 2020, v4.0.”

Reuse of raw materials. A Greengridz® desk or tabletop can be 100% reused at the end of its life cycle. It is upcycled through pyrolysis into high-quality carbon, which is used in the production of water and air filters. In addition to all the environmental benefits that a Greengridz® panel already offers, the end-of-life costs are now transformed into a value stream for the panel owner. No more costs for processing hazardous waste. Furthermore, this approach directly complies with new legislation in many countries that already mandates the recycling of both treated and untreated wood. This provides companies with a comprehensive solution that helps them make their operations more sustainable, reduce CO2 emissions, and put the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into practice.

Thanks to the grid system, the structural panel is stronger and stiffer than any solid panel currently available on the market. It barely bends at all, making it easy to construct long structures for furniture and construction applications. In addition, the panel is 100% flat, ensuring a perfect finish without any imperfections and creating a sleek appearance. What makes Greengridz® tabletops truly special is that they can be produced in a single piece up to 5,180 mm in length. The core material is ideally suited for building long tables. You no longer need to divide the tabletop into sections, which significantly improves its aesthetic appeal. The thickness ranges from 23 mm to 100 mm.
