Cloak is a decorative, 3D-printed pendant light inspired by layered fabrics from the fashion world. Two adjustable straps give the fixture a personalized look and create various lighting effects. The white, translucent layer provides a soft glow, while colored, opaque layers add contrast and depth to the design.

Cloak combines decorative lighting with flexibility in form and appearance. The bands around the lamp can be positioned as desired, giving each pendant its own unique composition. Thanks to its compact size and light weight, Cloak can be used individually or combined with multiple fixtures above a table, bar, counter, or informal gathering spot.

Cloak’s design is inspired by fabrics that drape in layers around the body. The printed lines and overlapping bands give the lamp a soft, almost textile-like appearance. The subtle texture of the 3D-printed surface becomes even more visible when the fixture is turned on. The light highlights the individual layers of the print, thereby reinforcing the resemblance to pleated and layered fabrics.
Robotic 3D printing is a technique used in the production of circular design furniture. Layer by layer, parametric models are transformed into striking pieces of furniture. Because the robotic arm can print from virtually any angle, extremely complex, curved geometries are possible. Biophilic design and complex mathematical shapes and algorithms can now be easily translated into Dutch Design furniture.
