The recovered fibers are compressed with water, pressure, and heat to form strong furniture panels. From a discarded beverage carton to a circular meeting table
Milk and beverage cartons contain valuable cellulose fibers that can be reused. For this table, the fibers are processed into a circular panel that serves as the base for the tabletop. In this way, an everyday waste stream takes on a visible and long-lasting role in the interior.

The tabletop is not made from a traditional, solid sheet material. The core consists of recycled cellulose fibers from used milk and beverage cartons. These natural fibers are reformed into a sturdy panel suitable for use in professional furniture. The material’s origin gives the table a clear circular narrative. Packaging that would normally be thrown away becomes part of a conference or meeting table that can be used within an organization for many years.

After collection, usable cellulose fibers are recovered from the beverage cartons and prepared for a new application. The fibers are mixed with water and then pressed into panels under pressure and heat. This process produces a dimensionally stable material that can be further processed into a tabletop. By reusing existing cellulose, fewer new fiber raw materials are needed for the core of the furniture panel.

The cellulose panel can be finished with HPL, making the tabletop suitable for daily professional use. The finish is bonded to the core using Niaga® adhesive technology. This bond is designed to be reversible. As a result, the HPL finish and the cellulose core can be separated at the end of the product’s service life.
